# Deploy your first token with Uzo Deploy

> Deploy a verified ERC-20 token to BOT Chain testnet from your browser with Uzo Deploy, then add it to your wallet.

<Info>
  **Testnet beta.** Uzo Deploy is live on BOT Chain testnet (chain 968). Mainnet is not enabled yet. Everything here is free to try with test tokens from the [faucet](https://faucet.botchain.ai/basic).
</Info>

Deploy your first token on testnet. By the end you'll have an ERC-20 token contract on BOT Chain Testnet, verified on BOTScan, with the whole supply in your wallet.

## Prerequisites

* A browser wallet, such as MetaMask. See [Connect a wallet](/get-started/bot-chain/connect-wallet) to add BOT Chain Testnet to it.
* Some test tBOT for gas. It's free from the faucet. See [Get testnet tokens](/get-started/bot-chain/get-testnet-tokens).

Test tokens have no value, so nothing on this page costs real money.

## Steps

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Uzo Deploy">
    Go to [deploy.uzolabs.xyz](https://deploy.uzolabs.xyz) and select **Start deploying**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check you're on testnet">
    The **Testnet / Mainnet** switch is in the top bar. Make sure **Testnet** is selected. New visitors start on testnet.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect your wallet">
    Select **Connect** and pick your wallet. Approve the connection in the wallet.

    If your wallet is on a different network, the **Review** step tells you to switch it to BOT Chain Testnet before you can sign. Switch networks in your wallet.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Get tBOT if you need it">
    If your balance is empty, get tBOT from the [faucet](https://faucet.botchain.ai/basic). The app also links to it when your balance is too low for the deploy.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick the Token template">
    Choose **Token**. The form opens on the **Configure** step.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in the form">
    Enter a token name (for example `My Token`) and a symbol (for example `MTK`). Keep the total supply at the default or enter your own, in whole tokens. **Send the supply to** starts as your connected wallet.

    The supply is fixed. Nobody can mint more later, including you. See [Token template](/deploy/templates/token) for every field and its rules.

    Select **Review**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the cost and your contract address">
    The **Review** step shows:

    * **Your contract address**: the address your token will have. It is worked out before you sign (see [How it works](/deploy/how-it-works)).
    * **Estimated gas**, **Estimated cost** and **Your balance**.

    If the app says "Not verified on BOTScan. Do not continue.", stop. It means the factory contract it would use is not verified. Check [Contracts](/deploy/contracts) and report it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign and deploy">
    Select **Sign and deploy** and approve the transaction in your wallet. The app waits for the network, then shows **Deployed** with your contract address. It should say "Matches the address shown on review."
  </Step>

  <Step title="Wait for verification">
    The app sends your contract's source to BOTScan for you. This is called verification. It usually finishes on its own. If BOTScan is slow, the app shows a **Try again** button. See [Verification](/deploy/verification).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the token to your wallet">
    Your wallet may open an "add token" prompt as soon as the deploy lands. If you dismissed it, select **Add to wallet** and approve it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="View it on BOTScan">
    Open the BOTScan link on the final step. You should see your token's name, symbol and total supply, and a verified source code tab.
  </Step>
</Steps>

You're done when BOTScan shows your token as a verified contract and your wallet shows the full supply.

## Troubleshooting

If a step didn't work, see [Troubleshooting](/deploy/troubleshooting). The most common problems are the wrong network in your wallet and an empty tBOT balance.
