# Customize the Bridge integration template

> Ideas and steps for turning the Bridge integration template into your own project.

Build your own bridge flow from BOT Chain today by adapting the hand-written guides, since the bridge integration template has no code to customize yet.

<Warning>
  **In development.** This template is not published yet and details may change. Follow progress on [GitHub](https://github.com/uzolabs/templates). Until it ships, use the hand-written guide linked on this page.
</Warning>

## Why there's nothing to customize yet

The bridge integration template is planned and not published. This page will list its settings and extension points once it exists.

## Do it today

Start from [Bridge out](/guides/bridge/bridge-out) and make these choices in your own code:

* **Check before every transfer.** Read the limits and minimum fee from the contract each time, as in [Limits and fees](/guides/bridge/limits-and-fees). Don't hard-code them.
* **Show progress.** Use [Tracking transfers](/guides/bridge/tracking-transfers) to show users where a transfer is and what a refund means.
* **Get test USDT.** Claim **Test USDT** from the [BOT Chain faucet](https://faucet.botchain.ai/basic), or swap tBOT for USDT with the [DEX integration template](/templates/dex-integration/index).
* **Keep amounts exact.** Convert with each token's decimals, never `parseEther`. See [USDT and decimals](/guides/defi/tokens/usdt-and-decimals).

<Warning>
  Bridge transfers on mainnet move real USDT, and if a transfer is refunded the bridge fee isn't returned. Rehearse every step on testnet first.
